Getting to know us

Some of you may already know la Ferme des Petits Torrieux (the farm of the Little Rascals) and others may wonder who we are. Our story started with a shared dream between Mélanie and I. The idea was to become a small-scale beef, pork and veal producer while using the best agricultural, environmental and farming practices. Since making our dream come true is very important to us, we worked hard to make it happen.  But we didn’t stop there. Things evolved quickly and we developed agricultural tourism (agro-tourism). It began with us opening our gates to primary schools and day camps so the children could visit the farm and feed the animals while learning about life on the farm and good farming and breeding practices. Soon enough families heard about the visits and were also interested in visiting the farm. Trying to make it the best experience for visitors, we started our Fun Saturdays during the month of March, which is the period when animals give birth, making it even more fun for everyone.

Today the Ferme des Petits Torrieux offers a wide range of activities including sleigh-rides, local products in our boutique, educational activities and many events throughout the year that bring people together. This year we opened our new sugar shack to produce our very own maple syrup from our maple trees on the Ferme des Petits Torrieux! While visiting during the last two Fun Saturdays of March you will be able to tap maple trees and collect the sap to make real maple syrup (weather permitting). A fun activity to do with the family that will satisfy the sweet tooth of adults and children alike.
